Friday 2.00pm – 5.00pm – Sequence Effective Alignment Focused Hatha & Vinyasa Classes
Beginning with a one hour asana practice and followed by a two hour conversation about sequencing effective, educational, and efficient yoga classes. Students will learn how to break down poses into actions, muscles, and common misalignments and develop the skill to use this information to create classes that expand your students’ abilities, knowledge, and skills. By educating yourself about the relationships between the poses, and how you can use this relationship to create inspiring and challenging sequences, you can be confident that your students will finish your classes excited to learn more.
Friday 6.45pm – 8.45pm, Mythology Behind Yoga – The Story of Ganesh
This workshop will mix in some movement (asana) with stories from the Ganesh myth and how the symbolism relates to our modern lives. The session will end with time to sit and contemplate in a guided meditation themed around some of the ideas that come up in the conversation.
Saturday 9.30am – 12.30pm, Refine Your Flow in a Vinyasa Class
Expect minimal instruction for maximum movement during the first half of class before we breakdown some poses with a focus on refining your transitions, alignment, and skills so that your vinyasa practice becomes more fluid. We will spend some time in the second-half of class refining some of the common transitions in vinyasa classes so that students can come to their weekly classes with more clarity about what their teachers are asking of them, and with more courage to push their boundaries, both on and off the mat.
