Seems like we’ve been having more days off than on lately. But with a massive rain and thunderstorm forecast for overnight and today, Stephen wisely convinced me to get indoors and take the day off. The rain pounded down last night so hard that I imagined it would have mashed our tent into the ground had we been camping out.
We found a great deal on a hostel in Makarska, a not particularly fascinating city, so today was all about getting stuff done.
We got up-to-date on all our blog posts, including our Huffington Post one, so look for that in the next day or so. I organised photos and posted a bunch of big, beautiful bike touring photo galleries on the site.
We fixed up our bikes (again) and this time they seem to be working nicely (again). We washed a few clothes, dried out our tent, and repaired the holes I made in it with Sugru. We bought a new power adaptor to replace our broken one.
Oh, and we even spent a little time wandering around the city.
Stephen cooked an amazing lunch and dinner while I edited photos, organised our two tool panniers, and picked out a few unused items to leave behind.
Which means we’re almost ready to set off again tomorrow morning. We’re aiming for an 84 km day from Makarska to Trogir, just north of Split. We’ve heard rumours of a campsite which is actually open… ♥
