7,999 km so far.
Today was the ideal kind of rest day, the kind with nothing to report. We worked, I napped, we took a walk.
We took (a lot) of pictures of bamboo, we washed laundry, and we watched a few episodes of Homeland.
Our three square meals came from the kindly staff of the Fine Yoga Retreat, who, despite not speaking the same language as us, have been incredibly kind and welcoming. They make sure at each meal we know which dishes are vegan, which to avoid. Some meals they even make us a special, off-menu, dish.
Ahh, the twin luxuries of being well fed and having a quiet room of one’s own are indescribable.
We eat surrounded by the yoga teacher trainees who are staying here for our workshop. As always, when we are in the midst of a group of dedicated yogis, we find the atmosphere familiar and comforting.
Familiarity and comfort have been on short supply these last six weeks, so we are immensely grateful to be here, and be a part, if only a tangential part, of this group. ♥
