“At the risk of sounding over-dramatic, the Yoga Immersion changed my life. I’m so much happier, I have an ability to move through life with more compassion and less need to control than I had previously. I thought I had to be stronger; it turns out I had to be softer or more flexible. [I found] a new side to me that I’m loving.” —Yoga Immersion 2018 Student (anonymity requested)

What is The Mazé Method Yoga Immersion?
I’m Stephen Ewashkiw. I travel the world teaching yoga, which is something that, if I stop and think about it, is crazy and amazing. I’m living my life as an adventure and I want to give you the tools to do that, too — whatever kind of adventure you want to live.
Learning more about your body and the yoga practice is a great way to find a deeper connection to yourself and your desires.
The yoga immersion is a chance to explore your practice, your desires, and your heart. You’ll uncover the strength to make changes in your life so that you can follow the path you truly want.
We’ll look closely at the forms of yoga poses, learn relevant and applicable anatomy, explore the history and mythology of yoga, and spend time contemplating various yoga philosophies and epics.
Most importantly, you’ll learn what impact all of this can have on your whole life, on and off the mat.
“This is an amazing and very inspiring opportunity to dive deeper. I came away with so much for me and my yoga practice.”—Jenna Pohlmann, Yoga Student
Who is the Yoga Immersion For?
As I have been teaching the immersion these past few years, I have learned that the immersion primarily appeals to two groups.
1. The Yoga Immersion is for yoga students…
I was neither a trained yoga teacher or a particularly committed yogi when I embarked upon the Yoga Immersion … over the course of the 4 weeks I learnt so much about alignment, anatomy, yoga history, and myriad other topics. If you are in any doubt, just go for it! Stephen is an inspiring teacher, knowledgable and entertaining — but more than anything else a really nice and approachable guy.” —Simon Brookes, Yoga Student
The immersion is for students of yoga who want to explore beyond what they can get in a public class.
Maybe you want to learn more philosophy, like the Bhagavad Gita and the Yogasutra, or maybe you want to learn some anatomy to help with your yoga practice. Maybe you want to improve your understanding of the poses to get more from your day-to-day practice?
Or possibly, you just want time to detach from the frenzy of the world around you and to reflect, realign, and get to know yourself again.
If so, the yoga immersion is a great place to do that.
2. The Yoga Immersion is for yoga teachers…
“I came out of Stephen’s Immersion full of energy and with a really useful toolkit for my yoga practice, my teaching and most importantly my life. Stephen is a very knowledgeable teacher with a beautiful soul and great sense of humour that makes you feel instantly at ease with expressing yourself.”–Sofia Ananda, Yoga & Movement Teacher
Around half of my immersion students are already yoga teachers.
They are genuinely excited by the opportunity to be a student of yoga again.
This isn’t a teacher tune-up or teacher training (though it will improve your teaching skills).
This is your chance to release the “teacher brain” and be a student again. It’s a chance to expand your appreciation and understanding of the context and content of yoga.
The immersion includes time spent with Patanjali and the Yogasutra, expands your anatomy knowledge, reignites your love-affair with asana, allows you to spend time with Hanuman, Kali, Ganesh, and Shiva, plus deepens your understanding of yoga history and philosophy.
We will create a space for you to explore and expand your practice, without having to worry about your students or your teaching skills.
This time is just for you.
(Even so, the Yoga Immersion counts towards Continuing Education hours with Yoga Alliance and CPD hours with Yoga Alliance Professionals, aka Yoga Alliance UK!)
What Will You Learn?
“Stephen’s instructions for the asanas are brilliant and very easy to understand. The short anatomy lessons were to the point and I got a better understanding of how everything works. Would I recommend the Yoga Immersion? Absolutely. It has definitely deepened my practice and also helped me in my teaching (though I know that was not the goal).” —Sarah Walsh, Yoga Teacher
There’s no way to detail all the things you’ll learn in the immersion, since the experience is a little different for each student.
You will get to join a community of students who are all excited to dive in and learn:
- To practice with more refinement and better alignment
- Detailed form of foundational yoga poses
- Anatomy, alignment, and modifications
- Applicable anatomy to advance your asanas
- Techniques to make hard poses easier…
- …and easier poses harder
- Various meditation and pranayama techniques
- The stories of Ganesh, Kali, Shiva, and Hanuman
- Origins of the modern yoga practice
- Who Patanjali was and and why his Yogasutra is relevant to you
- The story of the Bhagavad Gita and how it is relevant to our modern lives
- Philosophies of various yoga traditions
If that sounds like a community you want to be a part of, then join Stephen for The Mazé Method Yoga Immersion!

“I would highly recommend Stephen’s Yoga Immersion to any yogi who is interested in growing their knowledge of yoga history, asana, anatomy, philosophy, yoga myths and body awareness.” —Mags O’Connor, Yoga Teacher
“Yoga has always been a faithful companion but now more than ever, as a result of the Immersion experience, I have bonded with my practice and myself in a deeper, much more loving way. Stephen is the type of teacher who shows you where to look to find your own version of yoga, to figure out what resonates & what is relevant and to run with that. He reminds us that the practice of yoga is for self-development, courage, and freedom. In an ocean of bullshit and fakers he is a refreshing and motivating force that helps us to locate our life-jackets.” —Rachel Beare, Yoga Teacher
“I loved having the time and space to dive deep into the elements of yoga that I previously had just a superficial understanding of. It was a really well-structured, enjoyable, and worthwhile course. Thank you!” –Evelyn O’Keeffe, Yoga Student
“I particularly like Stephen’s style, doesn’t take himself too seriously and keeps things light. Highly recommended.” —Linda O’Brien, Yoga Teacher
